I’ve been working on some christmas card images and thought I’d try and do an off duty/deep in though Father Christmas portrait. Because he’s probably a bit worried about all the work that needs doing before christmas. I was going for an old weathered fisherman type look but in retrospect thats probably not very festive. The first time I did the portrait he looked maybe a bit too grumpy so I thought I’d try again and add a bit of ‘jolly’ to him.

I’ve made a little process video of me working with photoshop and illustrator on these images and I would really appreciate any feedback on the portraits and if you think that they’d work as christmas cards. I’m worried they may be a bit too gloomy to be festive - but then again Christmas is a pretty stressful time of year for everyone involved!
